New Project Bike
1979 Shovelhead 1200.
I constantly tell the older folks around me, "If you know anyone with an old Harley sitting around, let me know. I might buy it." Well, that shit finally paid off. And I got a killer deal on this shovelhead. It has a little over thirty thousand miles and, believe it or not, does NOT leak oil. It came with some extra parts, service manual and receipts from when it was rebuilt in 1990. The guy I bought it from said he probably hadn't put over 1000 miles on it since the rebuild. The bike basically sat in his garage because of a low speed accident that banged him and his ol' lady up pretty good. It has an S&S Super B carburetor that I'm excited about. The whole bike needs to be gone over but what old Harley doesn't? I even drove it home after buying it!

Hot Rods and Hillbillies Coverage
It's awesome that there was coverage of the event in the local newspaper but you can barely see my bike! You kind of see the handle bars but that's it! The photographer, Jeremy Hogan, promised to send me the other photos he took of my bike. When he does, I'll post them up.
Nick and Dave's portrait photos above are sweet though!

The Sportster is Done
Hot Rods and Hillbillies 2010 was sick. A bunch of people showed up and I won Best Custom Bike! All the trophies were hand made by Gravel Dragger members and mine was done up by Tony. He made a lamp out of a cylinder and piston and that was my award! It'll be my reading lamp next to my bed.
Here are a few photos I took this morning. Jeremy Hogan was at the event doing portraits for the Herald Times. He said he'd send me the ones he took of my bike and I'll be sure to post them here.
