First Ride

Finally. I took the bike for a spin yesterday for the first time since the rebuild. I feel like a new man. Even though the carb needs tuning (most likely re-jetting), I could definitely feel that it has more pull.

It's still all raw of course. My love and I are moving to a new place (with a hot tub) at the end of the month so I figured I'd be easier to drive the bike to the new spot rather than carry it in boxes. But once we get to our new home, I'll tear it down and powder coat the frame and have the tins painted. By then, I'll have some bugs worked out and some minor details smoothed.

Tail Light Mounting

This is an old trailer tail light I mounted on Thursday. I've been feeling more confident with the lift-tig welder lately. It took me about an hour and a half to cut, drill, weld, and grind these tabs into place.

Sissy Bar Party

I received the bends and tabs for my sissy bar from Josh yesterday. I got the bottom tabs welded on and I'm going to work on the bottom fender brace today. Notice how it's asymmetrical to account for the frame offset.

Also, Zack came over and helped me bleed the rear brake yesterday. Getting close to the end of the to-do list.

Scored one of these from Drag Strip Racer out of Australia.
